Fossil Stone Jasper Beaded Bracelet

These stones are both very unusual and unique.  Both are actually made up of fossils.  Over millions of years the fossil remains of ancient sea creatures have turned to rock and produced these stones for us.  

Fossil stone is a grey coloured rock that is made up mostly of crinoid stems and pieces, sometimes with unusual shell bits and pieces inside.  Crinoids are best described as ancient ocean creatures that are very similar to modern sea lilies.  Fossilstone will on occasion have pink colour mixed with the black and grey.  This makes it a very attractive stone.  

Turritella is usually a brownish coloured rock.  This rock is made up of tiny shells and shell pieces.  The predominant shell that makes up the turritella rock is the turritella shell.  On occasion, crinoid stems and parts along with other types of small shells and shell pieces may be found in the turritella rock.  

Turritella and fossilstone are estimated to be over 20 million years old. These are truly unique pieces of our Earth’s natural history. Some believe these stones may keep people focused on goals, and that they may be helpful with detoxification and may help one to increase resistance to environmental pollution.
